# 23 The End

At the start of the training it seemed quite daunting the number of tasks that were required, but infact most of the exercises didn't take too long. I think I need to revisit some of the things we did to get a proper grasp of them. It is exciting how libraries will be able to use alot of the 'things' we explored during the training.
I don't think I will continue to be a 'blogger'...don't see the point, but look forward to our library implementing some new technologies in the near future. At least I will know the terminology!

#22 Downloadable Audio Books

I think this is an amazing thing. I had a look at the e book fairsite and found the first book I looked for, but each subsequent title I searched for did not appear. I probably just needed more time to refine my searching....didn't have too much time to spare though.(One person branch). I wonder how long it takes to download a book to an ipod? Does it depend on the ipod?I will set myself a private exercise and find out. I will ask my son and have a listen to the books he has on his ipod.I am curious to hear how they sound.( I see other bloggers are not impressed by some of the readers).

#21 Podcast

I had a look at Podcast Alley. I selected the field of Education to look at various podcasts. As my daughter is studying Japanese at University I liked www.japanesepod101.com/feed.xml. Its a podcast where you get daily Japanese lessons direct from Tokyo. There are various levels. Its says it caters for someone intending to travel to Japan as well as the seasoned speaker.

# 20 YouTube

YouTube I know about. My kids have kept me up to date with this. My son and his mates are budding movie makers and have their movies on YouTube. One of the boys has to make a movie for his VCE Media subject and the results are great fun to watch. It is amazing how many the movies have had. It is very clever how the guys edit, add music, special effects etc.

# 19 Web 2.0 Awards

I had a look at 'Fun Stuff" and the One Sentence www.onesentence.org. It was a bit of fun. Didn't have a lot of time so may do more later.

#18 Web-based Apps

I had a look at Zoho writer. It looks easy to use. Pretty much like Word. As others have mentioned, it would be very useful for computers without Word added. I should add not only was it easy to use but also easy to access.

#17 PbWiki

I added my blog and had a play in sandbox. I liked looking at the 'favorite Books'.
